Well, not to sure how everything ended up this way... Just sort of got bored and was thinking of a visual of how she might end up dying.. Wow.. I must be depressed or something.. but alas, Inari does hold a side of fate with death.. Which is why we all need to watch out for Sakio. >.>;;
Anyhow, I tried SO much crosshatching to try to use a 'faded' look and I'm not sure if it worked well or not, but I think the placing of everything is good. By the way, the tree is her cherry blossom tree (which grew up with her) and the bridge goes over a small stream to her home in the background.
OMG! Feet!! XD I cheated and covered the hands because I didn't want to bother with perspective. Then again, as much as I tried, I didn't get to the perspective thing anyway, so oh well. ^^ Hope everyone likes it.. almost..
The first thing I thought when I saw this is, "What a nice bridge..." I'm so weird. XD
You did a nice job with bringing her in as the main focus, sort of blurring the background enough to where it's not distracting, but at the same time, not smudgey and completely out-of-focus. I'm guessing she's a original character?
Of course, Inari is the one character that I've ever really based off of myself. With her fear of the dark and being alone. (I'm not going blind like she is and I don't have powers over the light) but she's still, personality-wise, based from myself.... I think..
Thank you though ^^ The placement/grounds of the picture surprised me as well!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
